10) What have been some “positives” that have happened during your campaigning?
The greatest positive that has happened during this campaign would be the many friends I have made while knocking doors and visiting at events. I appreciate how much my friends have helped me during this campaign. ....more>>

10) What have been some “positives” that have happened during your campaigning?
One of the first positives I experienced was the large number of people who were willing to give of their time, talents, and finances to help me. An effective campaign requires much more work than one person could ever do. I am truly humbled by the help I have received.

6) There are 11 deputies currently serving in the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office. What is the ideal number of deputies serving in the sheriff’s office to do what you want to do?
Fifteen Deputies would be a good number to accomplish what I would like to do in the county. However, the number of Deputies is dependant upon factors such as the budget.

4) What specific changes are you going to make once elected to office? Please specify at least two.
The housing of the inmates in the County jail comes at great cost to the taxpayers. I will establish a new program that puts non-violent prisoners to work for us. These inmates can help remove roadside trash and assist county workers in projects requiring manual labor, saving taxpayer dollars and improving efficiency.

6) Are you for or against Tort Reform? Why?
I voted for the Tort Reform bill that passed while in the Senate and authored the Common Sense Consumption Act, which would reduce frivolous lawsuits. I am for good legislation that helps the people in my district.

6)In February of this year, the jail inspector from the Oklahoma State Department of Health met with the commissioners and said that the jail beneath the courthouse does not meet state standards and if they are not fixed heavy penalties could be layed on the county. Possible solutions include trying to repair the problems of the old jail and even building a brand new jail. What do you want to do to help resolve the issue. Where will the funds come from?

3)What is the most important issue to you and how will you work to alleviate the problem if elected? We must adequately fund for our public schools. This can be accomplished without raising taxes by simply changing the priorities of our lawmakers at the State Capitol.

3) What is the most important issue to you and how will you work to alleviate the problem if elected? Of course there are numerous issues of importance to our district. To say one is more important than another would be difficult. However, I believe education, corrections and health care are just a few that are of concern when the appropriations process begins.

1) What qualifications do you have for running for U.S. Senator?
I have always considered one of my unique qualifications for office to be the 30 years I spent in the business community being overregulated by the federal bureaucracy. From my time in the private sector working in aviation, real estate, and insurance, I understand firsthand the challenges small business owners face on a daily basis.

1) What qualifications do you have for running for U.S. Senator?
Fairness and personal responsibility are the Oklahoma values I was raised by and they are the values I will take to Washington. I entered public service following my work as a Christian missionary because I believed I could make a difference for our state, our country. I came into the State Senate in one of the most difficult times in Oklahoma history. Never before had there been a tied Senate with 24 Republicans and 24 Democrats. Looking back, I'm grateful to have started in this environment. I learned very quickly that if I wanted to get anything done on the tough problems we're facing with health care, energy, veterans care and a host of other issues, I had to reach across the aisle to find solutions to problems affecting Oklahomans. I've been successful in getting things done. That's the biggest problem I see with Washington, nothing gets done. I will fight and work to make things happen.

2) Why are you running for U.S. Representative District No. 4?
I believe I have earned the support of my constituents for four important reasons. The first, and most important, is that my staff and I are responsive to the citizens of the Fourth Congressional District.

2) Why are you running for U.S. Representative District No. 4? My family and I face the same challenges as everyone else in this District: finding and paying for health care, saving for my daughter’s college education, getting to retirement. These are all issues we face daily, but with little help from our government.
