The Duncan Banner
The brightest spotlight of the entire year may focus on the Stephens County Fairgrounds and Expo this week.
It is the site of the diamond anniversary of the Stephens County Junior Livestock Show, a tradition rich event whose center stage focuses on young people from the area FFA and 4H organizations and pays tribute to their long hours of commitment, determination and hard work.
The week-long extravaganza – highlighted by Friday’s awards presentation and bonus sale — attracts hundreds of students and even more of their parents, family and friends, all eager to perform, share lessons they’ve learned and offer appreciation for jobs well done.
It’s an event that, now 75 years old, sets Stephens County apart. It’s one that provides a positive glimpse into our future. And it’s one of which we all should be proud.
