DUNCAN — Duncan takes center stage in the rodeo world next week, hosting the prestigious Prairie Circuit Rodeo Finals at the Stephens County Fair and Expo Arena.

Top cowboys and cowgirls from Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska will be featured, sharing their considerable skills during three days of high level competition Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

It’s a significant event on the rodeo calendar.

Participants who qualified to compete here are among the sport’s best, seeking cash prizes and spots in the Ram National Circuit Finals Rodeo. Events include bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping and bull riding.

And it’s a significant event for hard-working Duncan organizers as well.

The Prairie Circuit is here by choice, recognizing not only the quality of a unique and outstanding facility here, but also acknowledging the rodeo business here is important and supported well by the people of Stephens County.

If you’re a rodeo fan, you probably already have your tickets.

If you’re not or if you don’t know, the week ahead is the perfect time to watch some of the country’s top athletes in action.
