Jenel Cavazos is an assistant professor in Cameron University’s department of psychology. She remembers her favorite teachers were accessible, interested and involved. She tries to be just like that.
Monika Linehan is an associate professor in the department of art. She spent more than two decades as a graphic designer before finding her way back into the classroom as a teacher. She works hard to know all her students and to serve as a role model for them.
Both are obviously successful.
They were named winners of the annual Harold and Elizabeth Hackler Endowed Lectureship in Teaching Excellence Awards here Thursday becoming the 25th and 26th honorees of recognition that started in 1999-2000 and grows in distinction each year.
No less an authority than Dr. John McArthur, president of Cameron, said it is the highest honor given at Cameron, one treasured as a reminder that education is a lifelong journey.
