Madison Lee "M.L." Hinton

April 5, 1932 — Jan. 31, 2013

DUNCAN — Madison Lee “M.L.” Hinton, 80, of Duncan passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Duncan Regional Hospital.

Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, in the Unity Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Standifer and the Rev. Mike King officiating. Burial, with military honors, followed in the Duncan Cemetery under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

M.L. was born April 5, 1932, at Summerland, Miss., to W.L. and Birdie Hinton. He graduated from Soso, Miss High School, was a veteran serving in the US Army and served on the Lakes Commission for the City of Duncan. He was a member and a Deacon of Unity Missionary Baptist Church.

M.L. married Esta Lee Wells on July 26, 1952, in Duncan, and she preceded him in death Feb. 25, 2010. He was employed by Halliburton Services from 1954 to 1993, as a shop supervisor.

M.L. is survived by three children: Linda Brinegar and husband Rusty, Rhonda Locke and husband Andy, and T.L. Hinton and wife Jennifer, all of Duncan; a sister, Lanell Watkins of Mississippi; nine grandchildren: Michael and Cari Edie of Duncan, Dianna Harris of Duncan, Chad and Jill Henslee of Edmond, Bryan Hinton of Whitesboro, Texas, Heath and Amber Edie of Duncan, Keith and Nikki Edie of Oklahoma City, Medea Wilkerson of Duncan, Erin and Ivonna Hinton of Weatherford, and Kelly and Phil Netzel of McKinney, Texas; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Kenneth Hinton; and four sisters: Adlea Johnson, Mary Herrington, Clarsie Cranford.

Pallbearers will be Chad Henslee, Bryan Hinton, Erin Hinton, Phil Netzel, Michael Edie, Heath Edie and Keith Edie.

Memorial contributions may be made to Unity Missionary Baptist Church Youth Fund.
