Shirley Ann Carnes, 72, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at her home in Cox City.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Cox City Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Love and the Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Burial will be in the Carnes Family Cemetery under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Shirley was born Thursday, Aug. 15, 1940, east of Marlow to Dewey Glenn and Julia (Sherill) Davis. Shirley lived in the Cox City area all of her life. She worked in healthcare until her retirement in 2005. Shirley married Bill Carnes in 1957. They later divorced. In 1963, she married Billy Jackson. He preceded her in death in 2002. In 2008, Shirley and Bill remarried.

She was a loving housewife and was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables. Shirley was an active member of the Cox City Baptist Church.

Survivors include husband, Bill Carnes of the home; daughter, Shelia Blanchard and husband Stan of Sheldon, Mo.; sons: Eddie Jackson and wife Wanda of Duncan, and Ronald Jackson and Kirk Couch of Dallas, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; step-children: Billy Carnes Jr. and wife Jola, Tina Auld and husband Michael, Ann Lowe and husband Kenny, Cindy Pullin and husband Don; sister, Norma Jean Coffman and husband Virgil of Duncan; brothers: Jerald Davis of Countyline, and Donald Davis of Grand Prairie, Texas; step-sisters: Wilma Staats of Marlow, and Carol Clarey and husband Kenneth of Sulphur.

Shirley was also preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Chris Davis, David Davis, Kirk Couch, Billy Boyce Carnes Jr., Dennis Hoosier and Jacob Jiles.

Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Jones, Terry Davis, Dewey Glenn “Shorty” Davis, John Orahood, Jerry Young, Charles Keith “Chuck” Oxford, Shawn Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Cox City Baptist Church building fund is encouraged.
