Paul Winston Hunt went to be with the Lord Oct. 31, 2012, surrounded by family and friends at their family home.
The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church Comanche at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Meister, Paul’s son-in-law will conduct the service. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-7 p.m. and visitation Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Paul was born southwest of Hastings to David Lee and Mazie Whitaker Hunt. He attended school in Hastings. He married his high school sweetheart Gladys Vernell Hardy in 1943. Paul proudly served his country in the Army Aircorps during World War II, flying numerous combat missions. After the war, he became a civilian employee at Tinker AFB and retired in 1974. He and Nell moved to Comanche, where they enjoyed life on the family farm.
Paul loved his family, his church and Lord and served them all well. He and Nell taught Sunday school for many years and touched many lives of the young people in the area. He will always be remembered for his catchy sayings, warm smile and generous nature. He enjoyed hunting, raising livestock and spending time with his neighbors. He had a green thumb and grafted many of the pecan trees that are currently on the family farm.
He is survived by his wife, Nell of the home; a daughter and son-in-law Paulette and Robert Meister of St. George, New Brunswick, Canada: a son and daughter-in-law Mark and Denise Hunt of Comanche; grandchildren Shannon Hunt of Norman, Christopher Hunt and his wife Caroline of Atlanta, Ga.: Joseph, Daniel and Amy Meister of St George, New Brunswick, Canada; step-grandchildren SPC Brooke Wisniewski of Ft Lewis, Wash. and SGT JR Wisniewski of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; sister-in-law Pauline Brokaw of San Bernardino, Calif.; sister-in-law Theda Soldani of Tulsa. He will be missed by many relatives, neighbors and friends who were all dear to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Joe Hunt and wife Lois of Lawton, Brinkley Hunt and wife Billie of Chickasha and Clarence Hunt and wife Opal of Duncan; one sister Edith Morgan and husband Clifford "Demp" of Comanche, and daughter-in-law Debbie Hunt of Norman.

Glendle Wayne Foster, 81, of Midland, Texas, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at his residence.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Midland First Assembly of God. Pastor Mike Foster will officiate. Interment will follow to Fairview Cemetery. Funeral service is under direction of Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home.
Mary Darlene Harris
Mary Darlene Harris, longtime resident of Duncan, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Dec. 12, 2013, in Searcy, Ark., after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
She was born Dec. 13, 1945, in Prague. She was valedictorian at Keota High School in 1963. She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1967, with a Bachelor of Science in English Education. She taught English at Velma High School and substituted extensively in the Duncan School system.
Regina Pat Perkins Looper
Regina Pat Perkins Looper, of Duncan, passed from this Earth on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at the age of 59.
Regina was born July 8, 1954, to Patsy June Snow and John Patrick Perkins in Duncan.
Memorial service for Regina will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the chapel of Don Grantham Funeral Home in Duncan, with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating and under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. There is no visitation scheduled.
Ronald Dean Harness
Ronald Dean Harness, 69, of Duncan, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, in the Duncan Regional Hospital.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Marlow Cemetery under direction of Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.
Mildred P. Gamblin
Mildred P. Gamblin, 94, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, in Duncan.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Duncan Cemetery with the Rev. Tracy L. Wilson officiating and under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home of Duncan.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the funeral home.
Mildred was born Feb. 11, 1919, in Duncan, to Robert Lee and Minnie Teague. She lived all her life in Stephens County, and grew up on the farm in the Empire area. She graduated Empire High School in 1938. She remained on the farm to help out until 1946, when she entered business college and graduated in 1947.
James David ‘J.D.’ Olds
James David “J.D.” Olds, of Duncan, was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Perry, to Laura and Jack Olds. He was the youngest of five sons. He passed away Dec. 9, 2013, in Duncan, at the age of 79.
J.D. grew up in Countyline, and went to school in Velma. He then graduated from Midwest City, where he was a quarterback for the football team. J.D. moved to Duncan and worked for Thorn Chevrolet. He married Harla June Sparks in 1954, in Lawton. They were blessed with two daughters: Kimberly Diane Johnson and Christie June Olds.
Paul David Campbell
Paul David Campbell was born June 26, 1955, in Wilcox, Ariz., and passed away Dec. 2, 2013, in Oklahoma City.
He graduated from Duncan High School in 1973. After being in the Navy, he became a carpenter and was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 329 in Oklahoma City.
