Miles Blundell

April 24, 1929 — Oct. 1, 2013

MARLOW — Miles Blundell, 84, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, in Marlow.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at the Eastside Baptist Church in Marlow, with the Rev. Toby Walker and the Rev. David Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Miles was born Wednesday, April 24, 1929, in Foster, to Alford Van and Emma Jean Kay Blundell. Miles lived in the Marlow area all of his life and was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force.

Miles married Betty Kathrine Ford on Nov. 11, 1950, in Lawton. She preceded him in death on June 27, 1994. On Nov. 1, 1994, he married Florence Davis Douglas in Marlow.

Miles opened the Sonic Drive-In in Marlow on Jan. 1, 1975. He owned and operated the Sonic until his retirement. Miles loved his work and he enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Marlow.

Survivors include wife, Flo Blundell of the home; two sons: Steve Blundell of Oklahoma City, and Billy Don Douglas and wife Sandy of Marlow; three grandchildren: Joshua Douglas of Guymon, Jessica Dawn Douglas of Nashville, Tenn., Mistie Murrah of Lawton; great-grandchild, Conner Peyt of Lawton; brother, Van Junior Blundell of Lawton; sister, Clema Wood of Duncan; numerous nieces and nephews.

Miles was also preceded in death by his parents; five sisters: Onie Wood, Blanche Couch, Desi Unsell, Vivian Wood, Wanda Robinette; and a brother, Corkie Blundell.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.
