Peggy Nell Parr

DUNCAN — Services for Peggy Nell Parr, 80, of Duncan will be 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ, with minister Leonard Keele officiating and under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Friday Sept. 27. Peggy Parr passed away Tuesday,  Sept. 24, 2013, in Duncan.

Peggy Nell Parr was born on Sept. 20, 1933 in Santa Fe, Okla., to V.L. and Virgie Parr.

Peggy is a graduate of Velma High School and attended Oklahoma State University receiving a bachelor’s degree.  After graduating college, Peggy worked as a social worker for the Department of Human Services for the State of Oklahoma.  Peggy was a member of the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading and studying history.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, V.L. Parr and Virgie McClanhan Parr.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Waits of Duncan; and her nephews, David Waits, Grant Waits, his wife Sharon and their son Cooper.

Memorial donations may be made to the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ Building Fund, 1404 W Main St., Duncan, OK 73533 or to the charity of your choice.   

Condolences may be left online at and a memorial register book is available to sign at the funeral home.

    Twyla was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Duncan, to Willard and Ruth Tinkle and died April 16, 2014, after a brief illness. Twyla lived her entire life in the Duncan area.

    Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
