Sharron E. ‘Chuck’ Barnes

June 1, 1937 — Sept. 16, 2013

Arlington, TX — ARLINGTON, TX — Sharron E. “Chuck” Barnes, 76, of Arlington, Texas, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, in Arlington.

Memorial service was Thursday, Sept. 19, in Arlington, at Lamar Baptist Church.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Duncan Cemetery with Virgil Trout officiating. Interment services are under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Chuck was born June 1, 1937, in Phillips, Texas, to Clifford Hadley and Edna Ruth Buckland Barnes.

He was a graduate of Duncan High School and graduated from Southwestern State University. He was a member of Lamar Baptist Church in Arlington.

Chuck married Carol Kay Nelson on Feb. 4, 1960, in Duncan. He enjoyed golf, skiing, dancing and watching football, especially Oklahoma University.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of the home; a daughter, Jami Barnes White and husband Jerry of Irving, Texas; two brothers: C.H. Barnes of Duncan, and Douglas Barnes of Lexington, Kent. He is also survived by numerous nephews, and close family and friends.

Memorial gifts may be made to donors’ charity of choice.
