MARLOW — The Lord took our angel, Syble Marie McGuire, 75, home on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, after a courageous two year battle with cancer.

We will celebrate her life at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Glory Bound Church in Marlow with Rev. David Woods officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Syble was born July 18, 1938, in Marlow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Viola Coapland; her husband of 36 years, Glendon Wayne McGuire; and her sons, Oden Ray McGuire and Brian Eugene McGuire.

Syble is survived by her daughter and her husband, Glenda and Caryl Emory of Wichita Falls, Texas; and her son and his wife, Keith and Sharon McGuire of Chickasha; nine grandchildren, Russell Lawrenz, Christie Lawrenz, Ashley McGuire, Heath McGuire, Nicole McGuire, Coby McGuire, Scott McGuire, Matthew McGuire and Samantha McGuire.

She was so blessed as well with four great-grandchildren, Graycen Avery Dunn, Liam Russell DeHoyos, Cadyn Wayne McGuire and Mia Alecia Nicole Fagan.

Syble is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Linda Coapland of Houston, Texas; and sister and brother-in-law Betty and Dean Whittington of Moore.

She held a special place in her heart for her uncle, Bill Hale and her in-laws, Jeff and Virl McGuire, Allen and Geri McGuire, and Barbara and Jim Logue, as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.

We will always remember our mother and grandmother for her love of life and love of her family and home. Her strength and strong will went hand in hand with the glass always being at least half full. She never quit, she never gave up, she rarely cried, and God so blessed us with this happy, wonderful woman. She truly was the eternal mother.

Syble cherished her many years employed at AOA as well as Marlow Food Store, where she met many dear, life long friends. She was a real people person and always had a knack for seeing the good. To know her was to love her. Also, Syble had an extraordinary love for her home and her kitty cat, Askit. She would say; “It’s not special to anybody but me, but it’s where I want to be.”

She had an ability to love and appreciate what God provided. She will be incredibly missed.

Pallbearers will be: Kent McGuire, Tony McGuire, Lynn Logue, Rowdy Logue, Rick Sessums and David Cummings.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Cancer Center of Southwest Oklahoma, Duncan Center, 2110 Duncan regional Loop Road, Duncan, OK 73533.
