Lyndol Ray Bryant, 74 of Corum, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, in the New Velma Cemetery with Pastor Bill Schneider officiating. Burial is under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home and all visitation will be at the Grantham Velma Chapel.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Velma Chapel.
Ray was born July 20, 1939, at Claud, to William Thomas and Camilla (Wright) Bryant. He attended Claud School through eighth grade, graduated from Velma-Alma High School and attended Central State University.
Ray married Patricia E. Grundy in 1976 at Henrietta, Texas. The last few years, he and Pat operated “North-Forty” Cafe & Bait shop at Corum. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was currently serving as President of the Corum Volunteer Fire Dept. Ray had worked in several oilfield related industries.
Ray is survived by his wife Pat of the home in Corum; one daughter, Teresa Matthews of Lawton; brother Jerb Bryant and wife Jeanette of Velma; two sisters, Yvonnia Epley of Wilson, and Betty Brown and husband Bill of Mustang; brother-in-law Temple Grundy and wife Johnnie of Velma; two sisters-in-law Gayla Ware and husband Orville of Cache, and Donna Willis of Weatherford; two grandchildren Jennifer Berry and Jillian Bundy and husband Travis, two great-grandchildren, Timber Crenwelge and Taylor Bundy; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and close friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Darrell Davis-Bryant and mother and father-in-law, H.O. and Ilena Pierce.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Corum Volunteer Fire Department.
