Edith Lazene Taylor, 70, of Marlow, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Duncan Regional Hospital, Duncan.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at the Gospel Tabernacle Church, Marlow, with Brother Delbert Taylor and pastor Cleatis Jeffcoat officiating. Interment will follow at Hope Community Cemetery. Services are under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Edith LaZene was born on June 17, 1943, in Marlow, Oklahoma to Zennia (Morgan) and Velmer Roy Taylor Sr.
She graduated from Marlow High School and LaJean’s Beauty College. She was a seamstress. Edith enjoyed reading and gardening and loved to do both. She also enjoyed attending church at Gospel Tabernacle.
Survivors include a sister, Bertha Roha of Sherman, Texas; two brothers: Velmer Roy Taylor Jr. of Amber, and Alvin Taylor of Perkins; and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: J.B. Taylor and Corbitt Ray Taylor.
Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary bearers are Kenny Patterson and James Ford.
