Dorothy Marie Taylor Coen

Nov. 7, 1934 — April 22, 2014

DUNCAN — Dorothy Marie Taylor Coen, 79, went to Heaven on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in Duncan, after a short illness.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Duncan Cemetery. Services are under direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Dorothy’s home, 2115 W. Randall, Duncan.

Dorothy was born Nov. 7, 1934, in Oak Grove, Ark., to Clarence L. Taylor and Audrey Johnson Taylor. On Feb. 2, 1957, she married Ernest Wayne Coen in Wichita Falls, Texas. They had three children: Carla Marie Snawder, Cynthia “Cindy” Louise Olis and Michael Wayne Coen.

Dorothy and Wayne lived in Duncan, Hobbs, N.M., and Roswell, N.M. They retired after selling their business in Roswell.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2008, and their loving son in 2013; her parents; and two sisters: Aulta Cole and Fredlene Jackson.

Survivors include two daughters: Carla Snawder and husband Jim of Katy, Texas, and Cindy Olis and husband James, Duncan; three brothers: Gene and Betty Taylor, Robert and Allene Taylor and Don and Pat Taylor, all of Missouri; a brother-in-law, Freddy Jackson of Norfolk, Va.; four grandchildren: Maj. Jared Snawder and wife Amy of Columbia, Md., Erin Snawder and husband Zach Todd of Colorado Springs, Colo., Adam Simms of Austin, Texas, and Lindsey Simms of Duncan; two great-granchildren: Amber Todd and Linkoln Todd of Colorado Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy will be missed by all who knew her.
