Thomas Virgil Barker, 69, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in Duncan.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2013, at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Reggie Creekmore officiating. Services will be under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Tommy was born Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1943 in Marlow, to Thomas (John) and Gladys Celesta (Hill) Barker. Tommy was a lifelong resident of Marlow and attended Marlow Public Schools. He retired from Stephens County District 1 after 32 years of loyal service. Tommy enjoyed his work and retired with 178 days of sick leave remaining. He loved his work family at the county barn. Tommy loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed reading National Geographic. He also enjoyed going for coffee and eating chicken fried steak. He attended the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Marlow.
Survivors include, sisters, Jeanne (Reba) Booth of Tulsa, Janie F. Brewer of Marlow, Susan K. Riley of Fort Worth, Texas; nephews, Nick Booth of Tulsa, Jason Brewer of Velma, Monty Brewer of Ponca City, Ridge Wade of El Reno, Kevin Riley of Fort Worth, Texas; nieces, Deborah Nesterenko of Grand Rapids, Mich., Janie Sue Roberson of Duncan, Sarah Arms of Fort Worth, Texas; and several great nieces and nephews.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
