Jetta Lorine Huey

Aug. 22, 1920 — May 14, 2013

COMANCHE — Jetta Lorine Huey, 92, former resident of Comanche, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Wellington Parke Center in Del City.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 17, at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel, Duncan. Burial will follow at the Old Velma Cemetery in Velma, under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Jetta was born Aug. 22, 1920 in Claud, to Isaac Jesse and Ettie Belle (Seely) Kirkpatrick.  

She worked as a bookkeeper for Paul Manufacturing and then as a private guardian/care provider for more than 15 years.

Jetta is survived by a daughter, LaRue Howell and husband Wayne of Oklahoma City; two brothers: Jesse Kirkpatrick of Marlow, and Lark Kirkpatrick and wife Verby of Comanche; two grandsons: Rickey Howell and wife Kristi and Russell Howell; two great-granddaughters: Jennifer McAlister and Samantha Jones; and two great-great-grandsons: Kolton McAlister and Bentlee Jones; and many nieces and nephews.  

She is also survived by a special friend, Florence Wright of Shawnee, and a traveling buddy, Viva Lovett of Marlow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Lee Roy Kirkpatrick and Mark Kirkpatrick and a special couple, who she loved and cared for, O.L.”Dutch” and Leta Peck.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Alzheimers Association; 3555 NW 58th; Suite 220; Oklahoma City, OK  73112.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kathy, Linda, Kim and Ken of Quality Care Hospice and the staff of Wellington Parke Center, for the love and care they gave to Jetta.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
