Teddy ‘Ted’ Joe Gandy

Sept. 9, 1945 — Jan. 27, 2014

DUNCAN — Teddy “Ted” Joe Gandy, 68, of Duncan, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at his home in Duncan, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at the Miracle Revival Center in Duncan, with pastors Stephen and Louetta Grace officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery, under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Ted was born Sept. 9, 1945, in Willis, Texas, to Dewey and Louella Baggett Gandy. On May 24, 1962, Ted married Ella Louise Burton in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Ted worked in the oil fields as a tool dresser, and he was an avid collector of old cars and scooters. He was a Christian man and was a loving father and grandfather, who loved going to church. He was a member of the Miracle Revival Center in Duncan.

He enjoyed going to garage sales and watching Price is Right and western movies though he wasn’t too fond of cows. But most of all, he enjoyed the time he spent playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those who will cherish Ted’s memory are his wife of 52 years, Louise Gandy of Duncan;  son, Roger Gandy and his wife Shirley of Duncan; daughter, Lynda Wilson and her husband BJ of Hobbs, N.M.; son, Rick Gandy of Chickasha; a brother, Curt Gandy of Loco; granddaughters: Kristen and her husband Jay Liles of Hobbs, and Chesney Gandy of Duncan; grandson Brent Gandy, granddaughter Desirae Bates and grandson Rickey Don, all of Duncan; granddaughter Brittany and her husband Josh Wate, granddaughter Lyndze Wilson and grandson Austin Wilson, all of Hobbs; four great-grandsons, six great-granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Ella Gandy; and two brothers: Dewey Jr. and Morris Gandy.

Pallbearers will be Brent Gandy, Andrew Swenstad, Rickey Don, Austin Wilson, Jerry Southerland and Dink Breakfield.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
