Marguerite Ann ‘Midge’ Riggs

Jan. 29, 1937 — Nov. 4, 2013

DUNCAN — Marguerite Ann “Midge” Riggs, 76, of Comanche, passed away Monday evening, Nov. 4, 2013, at Duncan Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with pastor Greg Tolle officiating, under direction of Comanche Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday.

Midge was born Jan. 29, 1937, in Neillsville, Wis., to Charles and Violet Campbell Rose.  She and Pat Riggs were united in marriage Dec. 13, 1955, in Phoenix, Ariz. They lived all across the country while Pat was serving in the US Army. They came to this area in 1971, making their home north of Comanche.

She loved to play cards, genealogy,  reading, and being with her children and grandchildren. She had two dogs, Buttons and Beau, who she loved dearly. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Duncan, where she had many friends, whom she sincerely referred to as family.

Survivors include three children: Tina Phillips, Comanche, Terrie Jolly, Dallas, Texas, and Robert Riggs and wife Brenda, Duncan; six grandchildren: Randy Keith Lancaster, April Dawn Phillips, Josh Jolly, Shawna Milburn, Nicholas Jolly and Clint Phillips; three great-grandchildren: Heaven Lee Tinney, Madeline Phillips and Ashlynn Jolly, and another great-grandchild, on the way; numerous brothers, and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
