Bobby Earl Musgraves

Feb. 4, 1932 — July 15, 2013

DUNCAN — Funeral services for Bobby Earl Musgraves, 81, of Duncan, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Elk Avenue Church of Christ in Duncan, under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home and officiated by Robert Teague with interment following at Duncan Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Bobby Earl Musgraves passed away Monday evening, July 15, 2013, at a local hospital. Bob was born Feb. 4, 1932, in Fox, to Ernest DeArmond Musgraves and Mattie J. Grimmett Musgraves. Bob served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955; he lived in Albuquerque, N.M., working as a safety director for an Albuquerque trucking company.

On August 11, 1995, Bob married his wife Virginia Scott-Musgraves in Las Vegas, Nev. Bob was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the times he spent drinking coffee with his coffee buddies Ron and Bill.

Bob is survived by his wife, Virginia Musgraves of Duncan; son, Robert Musgraves and his wife Joan, of Denver, Colo.; sisters: Oweeta Faye Hall of St. Louis, Mo., and Sue Hennan Rochell and her husband Ron, of Duncan; grandchildren: David Musgraves, Andrew Musgraves, Ashley Bair and Samantha Musgraves. Other survivors include step-son, Nick Scott and his wife Donna of Duncan; step-daughter, Becky Robinson and her husband Larry of Ocala, Fla.

Bob is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Sorrells Musgraves; son, Gregory Musgraves; brother, Ernest Jr.; sister, Ruth Knowles; and his parents.

Pallbearers will be Clint Imel, Brad and Eric Hennan, Ron Rochell, Danny and Carl Musgraves, Andrew and David Musgraves.

The family would like to ask that memorial donations be made to the Horizons Unit at Duncan Regional Hospital c/o DRH Health Foundation P.O. Box 2000 Duncan, OK 73534 or to the charity of your choice.
