Johnny Lane Jr.

June 26, 1937-May 10, 2014

DUNCAN — Johnny Lane Jr., 76, of Duncan, passed away on Saturday May 10, 2014 at the Duncan Regional Hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday May 14, 2014 at the Bethesda Church of God, officiated by Rev. Harold Metheny; interment will follow at the Duncan Cemetery. The family will receive guests on Tuesday May 13, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Johnny was born in Velma on June 26, 1937 to J. Owen and Edith Lane. Johnny married Karen on Dec. 12, 1984 in Lindsey, Okla. He worked in the oil field for 55 years in various positions but mostly as a rig runner and pusher. He enjoyed spending time with his family and horseback riding.

Johnny is survived by his wife Karen of the home, one brother, Butch Lane and Jana, one son, Gary Lane, four daughters: Kaye George, Valena Hefner and Bryan, Erica Griffin and Jamie, and Krystal Weldon and Robert, eight grandchildren: April Wellman, Misti Wirth, Cody George, Jessica Hefner, Garridan Hefner, Dezirae Griffin, Zachary Griffin, and Joseph Scheetz and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Linda Mayes and a grandson, Jeremiah.

Pallbearers will be Cotton Lane, Gerald Burkes, Harry Reynolds, Rocky Keck, Wilroy Keck and Cody George.
