Mary Lou Collins, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, April 17, 2014, in Duncan. He has freed her from her pain.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home with the Rev. Tracy Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Mary was born Friday, April 6, 1928, in Duncan, to Hunter Yates and Ola Mae Dunn Dizmang. She grew up in Duncan and graduated from Duncan High School in 1946. Mary worked briefly as a key punch operator for Halliburton, where she met Lester.
On June 30, 1950, she married Lester T. Collins at her parent’s home in Duncan. Lester preceded her in death on July 31, 2003. Mary lived in Marlow most of her life and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed shopping and cooking for her family. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marlow.
Survivors include three sons: Gary Collins and wife Dixie of Tulsa, Kent Collins and wife Elizabeth of Duncan, Robert Collins and wife Bunny of Marlow; three grandchildren: Michael Collins, Allison Collins, Lauren Collins; two sisters: Helen Watts of Duncan, Durelle Hudson of Stayton, Ore.; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Elton Yates Dizmang.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Watts, Christopher Watts, Doug Welch, Joshua Yates, Albert Loveless, Jr., Pete Mattingly.
