Melva Sue Blake, of Comanche, peacefully passed away Sunday afternoon, June 16, 2013, at Fort Worth, Texas. She was 71 years old.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Dow Pannell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under direction of Comanche Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and from a.m. to service time Thursday.
Sue was born Sept. 30, 1941, at Littlefield, Texas, to Melvin and Mildred Johnson West. She and George Blake were united in marriage Nov. 15, 1957, at Big Lake, Texas. Sue was employed at the Chisolm Trail Casino Gift Shop. She loved her job and enjoyed visiting with her customers. Sue also enjoyed shopping. She dearly loved her pets: a dog, “Max,” and her two cats: “Rocky” and “Miss Kitty.”
Survivors include her two daughters: Terri Ward, Fort Worth, and Tammy Reagan and husband Jeff, Fort Worth; an aunt, LaRue Johnson, Comanche; and numerous cousins and friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband George, and her parents.
