Glen R. Pope, 91, of Duncan passed away Wednesday morning June 12, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14 at the Eastside Church of Christ with Ron Stough officiating and under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home of Duncan.
Interment will be at Duncan City Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack James, Bill Nelson, Tom Tyler, Ron Cooper, Virgil Thurman, Haskel Murphree, and Jack Baldwin.
Glen R. Pope was born on March 15, 1922, in Nocona, Texas to Tom Pope and Sarah Wilson. Glen served with the US Army in WWII. After the war, he married his wife Oneta Janie on July 2, 1949, in Henrietta, Texas and worked for Halliburton as a foreman in MRD manufacturing until he retired in 1983. Glen was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ and enjoyed fishing and gardening and especially loved to grow tomatoes.
He is preceded in death by his wife Oneta Janie Pope, who passed away on Feb. 20, 2013.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Parker of Weatherford and Glenda Blake of Worland, Wyo.; sister, Jo Roy of Downey, Calif.; grandchildren, Casey Parker of Weatherford, Sarah and Josh Garcia of Worland, Wyo., Blake and Amy Parker of Phoenix, Ariz., Katie and Ken Noguchi of Charleston, S.C., Karie and Vito Wagner of St. Louis, Mo.; and three great-grandchildren, Kade, Ella and Mattea Garcia.
