Roberta ‘Amaw’ Hadley

April 30, 1941 — Nov. 29, 2013

Lawton, OK — Funeral services for Roberta “Amaw” Hadley, 72, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mark Henslee, pastor, and the Rev. John Saville, retired minister, officiating.

Mrs. Hadley died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, in Lawton.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Roberta was born April 30, 1941, in Lawton, to Robert Lee and Margaret Bertram Wheeler. She was a life long resident of Lawton, a graduate of Lawton High School, where she won several art awards. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Craig Hadley, on Nov. 2, 1959, and they were married for 54 years.

She had been employed as a draftsman/illustrator at Fort Sill, for several years. She was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she had taught Sunday school. She was a precinct supervisor for the Comanche County Election Board and an art teacher at Rock Church  Christian Academy.

She was a 25 plus year member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Lawton Noon Lions Club. She and her husband were hosts for sixteen different foreign youth exchange students. She was a loving mother and grandmother who took an active role with her grandchildren and was a great influence on their lives.

She is survived by her husband of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Bart Hadley Jr. and Andrea, Lawton; two daughters and a son-in-law: Donna Hadley-Harris and Bill Harris, Duncan, and Susan Hadley, Chickasha; 11 grandchildren: Elizabeth Finley, Hillary Stier, Alex Hadley, Karley Quisenberry, Kevin Harris, Faith Harris, Charity Harris, Matt Harris, Mike Harris, Hope Harris and Miracle Grace Harris; six great-grandchildren: Levi Hadley, Micah Enix, Clay Hadley, Conner Stier, Hayden Hadley and Trip Stier; two brothers: Robert Leo Wheeler, Calif., and Ron Wheeler, Lawton; and two sisters: Kathy Beck and Margaret Jean Allison, both of Lawton.

Her parents; a grandson, Bobby Brooks Hadley; and a brother, David Wheeler preceded her in death.

    Twyla was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Duncan, to Willard and Ruth Tinkle and died April 16, 2014, after a brief illness. Twyla lived her entire life in the Duncan area.
