Tim Hanson

DUNCAN — Memorial services for Tim Hanson, 55, of Duncan, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at New Hope Baptist Church West with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating and under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. There is no visitation scheduled at the funeral home.

Timothy Lee Hanson passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 18, 2013, at an Oklahoma City Hospital.

Tim was born Dec. 8, 1957, in Springhill, La., to Walter Lee Hanson and Dorothy Rose Hanson. Tim graduated from Tulane University, in New Orleans, La., in 1980, earning a bachelor’s degree in petroleum geology. He married Beverly Rae Hanson in 1992, in Gainesville, Texas. Tim worked for Mack Energy Company in Duncan, for more than 30 years as a petroleum geologist.

Tim was a member of New Hope Baptist Church West, and a member of the Geological Society of America. Tim enjoyed playing golf, and fantasy baseball. He especially loved to spend time with his grandkids, who were the apple of his eye.

Tim is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly Hanson of Duncan; parents, Walter and Dorothy Hanson of Daphne, Ala.; daughters: Menta Freel and her husband Shawn Freel of Duncan, and Madson Hanson of Duncan; son, Graham Hanson of Duncan; brother, Steve, his wife Darla Hanson of Macon, Ga., and their children: Patrick and Meaghan Hanson of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren: Riann and Bristol Freel of Duncan.

Family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312 or to the charity of your choice.
