Sharon Kaye Peavler

VELMA —

Sharon Kaye Peavler, 67, of Velma passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at her home in Velma.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22 at New Velma Cemetery with the Rev. Cody Deevers officiating. Burial is under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
All visitation will be 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Grantham Velma Chapel and the family will receive friends there.
Sharon was born Dec. 26, 1945, in Duncan to Vernie M. and Ruth (Cowan) Pogue. She graduated from Velma-Alma High School. 
Sharon was employed as an administrative assistant for Halliburton Services and was a member of the Velma Baptist Church. For the last few years, she was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. 
Sharon married Ronald Wayne Peavler on Sept. 24, 1966, at the Velma Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ron of the home, her mother, Ruth Pogue of Duncan, one son, Brett W. Peavler of Duncan, two sisters, Marsha Newman and husband Imon and Debbie Locke and husband Gary, all of Duncan, three grandchildren: Braiden Peavler, Brendan Peavler, Sara Peavler, one great-grandson, Caiden Moore and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Vernie Pogue, a sister, Vernell Maston and a nephew, Gary McLemore.
Honorary bearers will be Brett Peavler, Braiden Peavler, Brendan Peavler, Gary Locke, Imon Newman, Chris Dickerson and Ryan Blakemore.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to: Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma; c/o 3401 West Gore Blvd.; Lawton, OK 73505.
