Roma Louise Mitchell-Hadlock, 92, went home to meet with her heavenly father on Thursday, April 25, 2013, in Arlington, Texas, where she had resided for the past two years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday April 29, at the Don Grantham Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Duncan.
She was a long time resident of Duncan, Okla., and the Duncan area. Louise was born June 28, 1920, in Wellington, Texas. She was the daughter of Samuel Willis Mitchell and Cordia Edith Creel.
She married Deb “Red” Warren Hadlock on Sept. 4, 1937, in Velma, Okla.. They were married for 51 years and were the parents of two children, Larry Warren (Reta) Hadlock of Clarksville, Tenn., and Nancy Lou (Verle) Miller of Arlington, Texas.
She was survived by three grandchildren, Michael Ray (Sharon Kaye) Miller of Arlington, Texas; Jerry Lynn (Debra) Miller of Arlington, Texas; Tawnya Kay (Troy) Sinitiere of Clarksville, Tenn.
There are five great-grandchildren, Bo (Michelle) Gillespie of Kyle, Texas; Lauren (Brad) Patterson of Sherwood, Ark.; Brooke Sinitiere of Clarksville, Tenn.; Patti Miller of Portland, Maine; and Josh Miller of Arlington, Texas. There are four great-great-grandchildren, Kaden and Avery Patterson and Rocco and Max Gillespie.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband “Red,” two sisters, Mildred Kizzia and Frances Cloyd; two brothers, Virgil Mitchell and James T. Davis; and a son-in-law, Verle Ray Miller.
Louise retired from Little Printing & Stationary in 1974 after 23 years of service.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist church in Duncan. She was an avid bird watcher, loved her flower gardens and most of all her beloved dog, Belle.
