COMANCHE — Marjorie Ann Hokit, 79, of Comanche, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at her home in Comanche.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at New Hope Baptist Church West with the Rev. Randy Southerland and pastor Mike McCord officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home.

Marjorie Ann Edwards was born May 2, 1934, on the Edwards’ Ranch, Addington, to Howard and Leona Dandridge Edwards. She graduated from Addington High School. Ann married Grady “Bud” Hokit on Sept. 24, 1952, in Henrietta, Texas.

She was a member of Corum Baptist Church. Ann worked on the family farm and was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Bud of the home; a son, Buddy Hokit and his wife Cathy of Duncan; a brother, Billy Howard Edwards and his wife Imogene of Marlow; three sisters: Betty Bowles and husband Howard of Duncan, June Brandon and husband Woodrow of Waurika, and Janice Gardner of Minnesota; three granddaughers: Lacy Ramirez and husband Abe, Lisha Elroy and husband Jeff, and Lori Hokit; two great-grandchildren: Eli and Jayce Ramirez; and many other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters: Beverly Jean Lyle and June’s twin, Jane Edwards.

Pallbearers will be Jay Watkins, Greg Shepherd, Jack Butler, Lee Wayne Stepp, Joe Layn and Ray McCarter. Honorary bearers are her nephews: Matt Garth, Dewey Brandon, Danny Brandon, Joe Ed Smith, Travis Gardner, Billy Gene Edwards, Ernie Edwards and David Howell.
