Robert Lee Smart

Nov. 23, 1925 — Nov. 20, 2013

DUNCAN — Robert Lee Smart of Terral, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, in Bowie, Texas, at the age of 87.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, in the First Baptist Church of Terral with Bro. Charles Parker officiating. Burial , with full military honors presented by the Stephens County Honor Guard, will follow in the Terral Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, at the Terral Funeral Home Chapel, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Robert was born Nov. 23, 1925, to Lee and Voy Fay Mundy Smart in Fleetwood. In January of 1944, Robert joined the U. S. Navy during World War II and re-enlisted twice. On June 23, 1946, Robert Lee Smart married Glenora Jean Spindle in Long Beach, Calif. Upon returning to Terral, Robert was an owner and operator of many a local businesses, also including the construction of many homes in Terral.

Robert is survived by a son, Billy Smart and his wife Jo of Terral; a daughter, Jeri Langford and her husband Leonard of Terral; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Glenora in 2001; a son, Bobby; and a daughter, Connie Milton.
