Jewell Marie Ledford

Jan. 10, 1919 — March 6, 2013


Jewell Marie Ledford peacefully passed away early Wednesday morning, March 6, 2013, at Duncan Regional Hospital, at the age of 94.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, at Corum Baptist Church, with Bro. Timothy Ball officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, under direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday. Family will be receive guest from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday.
Jewell was born Jan. 10, 1919, near Bennington, to William A. and Zelzie Laney McCarley. At age 7, the family moved to Stephens County, where they made their home.
She and Ernest Alfred Ledford were married in 1936. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and picking up pecans. She loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include five sons: Roger Ledford and wife Gale, Comanche, Jimmy Ledford and wife Joetta, Comanche, Ernest Ledford and wife Ruby, Comanche, Andy Ledford and wife Billie, Comanche, Gary Ledford and wife Carol, Comanche; two daughters: Sue Brown and husband Wayne, Duncan, and Brenda Gordon and husband James, Comanche; 17 grandchildren; and many great- grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
 Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, a brother and two grandchildren.
 Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
