Oneta Janie Pope was born July 18, 1922, in Ryan, and passed away Feb. 20, 2013, in Duncan, at the age of 90.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at the Eastside Church of Christ officiated by Ron Stough with interment to follow at Duncan Cemetery under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Oneta and Glen R. Pope were married July 2, 1949, in Henrietta, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Eastside Church of Christ, where she was very involved with Love In Action, a sewing group ministry. Oneta also enjoyed cooking, especially pies. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed ceramics and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her husband, Glen R. Pope of the home; two daughters: Kathy Parker, Weatherford, Glenda Blake, Worland, Wyo.; fvie grandchildren: Casey Parker, Weatherford, Blake and Amy Parker, Phoenix, Ariz., Karie and Vito Wagner, St. Louis, Mo., Sarah and Josh Garcia, Worland, Katie and Ken Noguchi, Charleston, S.C.; three great-grandchildren: Kade, Ella and Mattea Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ona King Stovall, and seven siblings.
Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers, and honorary bearers are Jack James, Bill Nelson, Gary Cox, Virgil Thurman, Ron Cooper, Haskell Murphree and Tom Tyler.
