Harold Lloyd Wilkes

Sept. 23, 1931 — Nov. 9, 2013

MARLOW — Harold Lloyd Wilkes, 82, entered Heaven joyously praising his Lord and Savior, Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, in Lawton.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Couch officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.

Harold was born Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1931, in Hastings to William Beler and Verna Lenore (Black)Wilkes. Harold was a life long resident of the Marlow area. He attended Star School west of Marlow.

On March 19, 1955, Harold married Ruedell Sparks in Marlow. Harold served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the VFW. Harold worked for Halliburton for more than 30 years before retiring. He considered himself a part time farmer all his life.

During his younger days, Harold enjoyed fishing. After his retirement, he spent time collecting coins, going to flea markets, auctions, and craft shows. He loved to buy and sell the treasures he found.

Harold also enjoyed working at his church and spending time with his family. He and Ruedell loved to travel. Harold was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Marlow.

Survivors include, wife, Ruedell Wilkes of the home; son, Harold Wilkes, Jr. and wife Dena of Yukon; daughter, Marla Hornberger and husband Tom of Tuttle; five grandchildren, Rick Hornberger of Marlow, Kenneth Hornberger of Yukon, Bridger, Erik, and Ethan Wilkes all of Yukon; six great-grandchildren, Harley, Jay, Trevor, Dalton, Edie, and Jade; brother, Jerral Max Wilkes and wife Lou of Merryville, La.; sister, Helen Greer and husband Bob of Marlow; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
