Cynthia Jan Garth, 60, of Duncan passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at her home surrounded by loving family and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral Home.

Jan was born Jan. 22, 1953, in Lovington, N.M. to Douglas O. and Barbara (Lamar) Johnson. She was a graduate of Duncan High School, was employed at Delta Nutrition Center as their site manager and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Jan is survived by her husband Larry Garth of Duncan, her mother Barbara Johnson of Duncan, three children Jennifer Smith and husband Walter of Duncan, Rick Garth of Kansas and Kim Thornton of Lubbock, Texas, one sister Leasa Kehnemund and husband Mark of Richmond, Texas and their children Allison Tonkin and her husband Eric and their son Trey and Matthew Kehnemund and wife Lori, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barbara and Joe Hayes and their son Randy of Marlow, seven grandchildren: Jonathan Murphy, Kayla Murphy, Ryan Smith, Ashley Smith, Caden Garth, Ashley Garth and Tim Garth.

Also survived by special friends Sheila, Bret and Esty Alford of Marlow.

Honorary bearers will be Rick Garth, Jonathan Murphy, Ryan Smith, Bret Alford and Walter Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?
