DUNCAN — Fayetta Bell Davis was born to Samuel and Florence (Shaffer) Branum on June 12, 1916, in Chattanooga. She departed this life on Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at the Grace Living Center in Norman at the age of 97 years.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Noble First Baptist Church and interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Duncan Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by McMahans Funeral Home.

Mrs. Davis attended school in Blackwell and graduated with the class of 1935. On Aug. 12, 1938, she and Mr. Johnny Davis were united in marriage in Sulphur. They were married for 66 years before Mr. Davis preceded her in death in 2001.

Mrs. Davis was employed for many years for the Velma-Alma School District in food service. She was an active member of the Velma Baptist Church. She sang in the choir, helped with Falls Creek and even helped paint the church one year. The family remembers her being their Christian leader her entire life. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed every moment she could spending time with each and every one of them.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Johnny, three brothers and one sister.

Those who survive her include two sons Darrell Davis of Venice, Fla. and Randy Davis and his wife Debbie of Duncan; one daughter Lana Carey and her husband Larry of Norman; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
