Bertha Marie Springer

April 22, 1935 — Aug. 20, 2013

Comanche — COMANCHE — Bertha Marie Springer 78, of Comanche made her journey home to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 20, 2013, after spending her last days surrounded by her family and friends at her home in Comanche.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ray of Hope Church with Ronnie Bernard officiating. Services are under direction of Bailes-Polk Funeral Home. Family will accept visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Bertha was born April 22, 1935, at Sycamore, Ill., the daughter of Clarence and Ellene Petrie. She and Raymond were married July 11, 1989. He preceded her in death December 15th, 2012.  

She was a member of Ray of Hope Church and along with her husband spent some time operating the Duncan Lake Concession. She enjoyed sewing, painting and drawing.

Survivors include daughter, Pamela and husband Teddy Rhamy of Comanche; daughter, Amie Gates of Comanche; granddaughter, Latasha and husband John Caton of Duncan; grandson, Todd Rhamy and wife Erica of Duncan; five great-grandsons: Johnathen, Anthony, Nathan, Michael and Jared, all of Duncan; sisters include Fran Rinaldo of Cherry Valley, Ill., Laura Schwartz of Tucson, Ariz. Brothers include Len Petrie of Arizona, and the late Donald Petrie of Virginia Beach, Va.
