Shona Marie Herrington Ballard

May 16, 1969 — July 29, 2013

COMANCHE — Shona Marie Herrington Ballard, 44, passed from this life to her heavenly home Monday, July 29, 2013, surrounded by friends and family in the home of her mother, Joyce Coffey Warren in Comanche.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 31 at Ray of Hope Church in Comanche with Pastors Mike McCord and Dow Pannell officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, Comanche.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 30 at Carter-Smart Funeral Home in Duncan.

Shona entered the world May 16, 1969, the same as she left it, to the patter of raindrops. Her husband James Arthur Ballard and daughter JessieMae Marie Temaat reside in Norman. Shona grew up in Colby, Kan. and lived in towns in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas as an adult.

Shona was a housewife, raising JessieMae and Talon Dale Minshall Grover, who has been riding his heavenly train since June 5, 2005. She also joins her daddy, Leroy Warren and her Mama Mae, who went to help polish the streets of gold she now walks upon.

Shona leaves behind her mother, husband and daughter, two brothers and their wives Ronnie Herrington (wife Melody) of Comanche and Ben Herrington of Duncan, two step-brothers and their wives David Warren (wife DonaLea) of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Doug Warren (wife Pam) of St. Charles, Mo.; step-sister Connie Jones (husband Hayden) of Eufaula; nieces, nephews and a wide assortment of friends.

She was preceded in death by a step-sister Kate Warren of Henderson, Nev.

Pallbearers will be Shane Taylor, Dale Grover, Charles Ballard, Joe Culbertson, Ron Herrington and Ben Herrington.

Memorials may be made to Donor’s Choice c/o the funeral home.

    Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel, Duncan. Interment will follow where Bette will be laid to rest beside her husband in a family cemetery in Alma.
