Del Dee Cotner Loafman Bauer

Walters — Del Dee Cotner Loafman Bauer, 95, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, in Arlington, Texas.

Memorial service was Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at St. Mark’s Church in Arlington, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are being made to the church in her name.

Mrs. Bauer was active as a volunteer for Tarrant County Meals on Wheels, her church’s soup kitchen and the Arlington Women’s Club.

Dee was the oldest of four daughters born to Tom and Mabel Cotner of the Corum Community. A sister, Alyene Burge lives in Arlington. Tommie Cotner Ferguson and Bettye Cotner Ansley passed away several years ago.

Dee married D.J. Loafman, a school teacher and coach, in Oklahoma for many years. Their two children: Linda Loafman Shoemaker and Jerry Loafman survive her, as do their children and grandchildren. In Texas, Michael and Angela Shoemaker, their children Jennifer, Jarret and Samantha and husband Andrew; Paige Shoemaker Gilbert and her children: Dylan and Lauren; and Brooke Shoemaker Ross and her husband Skip and their children: Cory, Makenzie and Riley survive her.

In Oklahoma, Mrs. Bauer’s  son Jerry P. Loafman and wife Gail survive her, as do their four sons and their respective families: Duncan is the home for Dennis and Jane Loafman and their children: Davis and Kaitlyn; Rob and Janelle Loafman and their children: Dalton, Jason and Aspen.

Thom Loafman and wife Melissa, and Gary, Eileen and “Jet” Loafman, all reside out of state.

Dee is to be buried  near the Cotner graves in Walters Cemetery. A date has not been announced. Skip Ross will officiate.

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
