General Harrison Houston, 90, of Duncan, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, in the Duncan Regional Hospital.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Hall officiating. Interment will be in the Waurika Cemetery.
Military honors will be provided by the Stephens County Combined Honors Team and service will be escorted by the Patriot Guard.
Harrison was born Feb. 9, 1923, at Waurika, the son of Newton Lafayette and Velma Fannie Hobson Houston. He and Nina Elizabeth Ramsey were married April of 1959, in Waurika, and she preceded him in death July 16, 2007.
He served in the United States Army, was a member of the Gospel Beams Church, and love playing guitar, fishing and spending time with his family.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, two step-sons, three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include two sons: Leslie Houston and Gene Houston; four daughters: Ima Jo Ashford, Loretta Fairl, Mary Hughes, Darlene McKinney; two step-daughters: Wanda Felder and Melody Lozeau; a sister, Katy Robinson; a brother, Curtis Houston; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of friends.
