Tony Mac Holt

Sept. 11, 1937 — May 7, 2013

LAWTON — Memorial service for lifelong Lawton resident Tony Mac Holt, 75, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 10, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with Dr. Gene Nease, retired pastor, officiating.

Mr. Holt passed away May 7, 2013, in Lawton.

Arrangement are under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Tony was born on Sept. 11, 1937, on the family farm in Stephens County, to Bert and Margaret Irene Roush Holt. The youngest of the four children, he was fond of saying that he was the one left behind to do the entire farm work. He grew up in and around Lindsey and Central High area in Oklahoma. While attending Central High School, Tony was active in FFA and played baseball, basketball and continued to play slack pitch ball for a number of  years after graduating.

 Tony worked in the auto parts business for many years in sales and management at various parts stores to include Eddie Cordes Service and Parts in Wichita Falls, Texas, Sports Car Center,  Montgomery Wards and Automotive Parts. He owned and operated Tony’s Auto Salvage and Parts, and he later owned Mighty Distributing Systems until his retirement.

Retirement was not permanent with various household projects. Tony returned to the workforce working as the manager of Builders Surplus in Lawton until his health prevented him from working anymore. Tony married Reba Ann Copeland in Lawton on July 21, 1972. The young couple had more than 40 years of joy together.

Tony was a Mason of Lodge 183, where he received his 50 year pin in 2010. He also became an India Lodge Shriner in 1984.

His lifelong love of sports included playing slack pitch ball, golf and watching OU basketball and football.

Mr. Holt is survived by is wife, Reba of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Sharique Buksh of Edmond; a son, Cody B. Holt of Lawton; four grandchildren: Maria Smith, Jana Buksh, Jason Buksh and Connor Holt; a great-grandchild, Caden Smith; two sisters: Priscilla Haugen of Parshall, N.D., and Shasta Johnson of Marlow; and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, William S. Holt.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for family and friends to make out memory cards so the family can share fun memories for years to come. Contributions may also be made to the Shriners.
