Judith M. Jones

MARLOW —  

Judith M. Jones, 74, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Little Rock, Ark..
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, at the First United Methodist Church in Marlow with the Rev. Matthew Scraper officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Judy was born Thursday, Dec. 15, 1938, in Wynnewood, to John L. and Dorothy L. McClain Mitchell. Judy was raised in Marlow, where she graduated from high school in 1956. On Feb. 28, 1959, Judy married Ron Jones in Marlow. They lived and worked in several places throughout the country including New Jersey, Florida and Tennessee.
Judy received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis in 1994, while the family was living in Tennessee. Judy and Ron returned to Marlow in 1997, to operate the family business, Mitchell and Mitchell, Inc.
Judy was extremely active in the community. She was a member of a number of organizations including; Delta Sigma, PEO, UMW and Friends of the Library. She held several different offices during her time serving in these organizations.
Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and giving of her time to the church. She loved to take care of her home and flower gardens. Judy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marlow.
Survivors include her husband, Ron of the home; two sons: John Kevin Jones of New York City, N.Y., and Jay Kyle Jones of Marlow; two nieces, and many, many friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, and a sister, Jane Briscoe.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church in Marlow.
