Ernest Alexander, 87, of Duncan, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in the Sterling House in Duncan.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Dean Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery.
Ernest was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Duncan, to Noble and Mary Berry Alexander. He graduated from Duncan High School and was retired from Koch Oil Co. Ernest married Peggy Joyce Davis on June 23, 1956, in Lawton, and she preceded him in death Aug. 2, 2010.
Ernest is survived by a sister, Florence Strawn of Duncan, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble and Mary Alexander; his wife, Peggy; five brothers: Jimmy Alexander, Noble Alexander, Robert Alexander, Martin Alexander and Bill Roberson; and three sisters: Dorothy Halley, Many Sanders and Mattie Wilkerson.
Pallbearers will be Brad Mowry, Brian Nalley, Bill Strawn, Joe Norton, Wayne Smith and Barri McCauley. Honorary bearers are Joe Morris and Claud Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aspire Hospice, 101 N Broadway, Marlow, Okla., 73055.
