Earl Raye Green, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Dec. 27, 2013.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30 at West Park Cemetery in Hereford, Texas, with a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hereford, Texas. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E. 6th Street.
Born Dec. 27, 1932, in Loco to John Hubert Green and Isabelle Colvin Green, Earl graduated from Duncan High School in 1951 and attended Wentworth Military Academy and later, graduated from Oklahoma A&M (Oklahoma State University) in 1955.
He married Patsy Ann Welty on Sept. 3, 1955, in Duncan and was associated with his father and brothers in farming and ranching, served in the U.S. Army as a captain and later in the National Guard as a major and was as a county agent in Colgate.
He moved to Hereford in 1969 and both he and his wife were employed by Alpha Cattle Company currently known as Bar-GFeed yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Rufus and Hubert Green of Duncan and two sisters, Caroline Flynn and Ruby Rayness of San Diego, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy A. Green of Hereford, a daughter Jana Green Trotter and her husband Johnny Trotter of Hereford, one grandson Eddie Trotter of Amarillo, one nephew, John R. Green of Duncan and three nieces, Marilyn Hendley of Edmond, Nancee Raynes of San Diego, Calif. and Kaye Hollis of Encinitas, Calif.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Duncan, a member of Texas Cattle Feeders Association, Sigma Chi Fraternity and involved in farming, ranching, oil exploration and investments from the early 1960s until 2010.
