Gaines Halford “Hal” Stout, 75, of Duncan, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Hal was born March 4, 1937, at Durant, to Gaines Halford and Rose Marie Stout. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was president of Duncan Savings & Loan Assoc., past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge and board member of The Duncan Chamber of Commerce. Hal loved his family and his two constant companions “Beau” and “Boomer.”
He married the love of his life, Vickie Allen on April 21, 1995.
As Vickie once said ... “She has had the privilege of being married to this man for 17 years and being a part of his life for 23.”
Hal is survived by his wife, Vickie of the home; five children: Debbie Kaye of Seattle, Wash., Brenda Hurley of Duncan, Gaines H. Stout III and wife Laura of Gunter, Texas, Carissa Tran and husband Thuan of Albany, Ore., and Sara Hays and husband Casey of Velma; a brother, James Stout and wife Diane of Yukon, their children Mark and David Stout; a sister, Hala Rogers and her children Randy Rogers and Krista Buresh.; a sister-in-law, Beverly Stout and her children Amy Wurm and Rodney Stout Jr.; four grandchildren: Aubrey and Emma Hurley, Emily Harless, and Sloan Hays; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Rodney Stout Sr.
