A celebration of life service for Lloyd A. Rich, 90, of Fletcher, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at the First Baptist Church, Fletcher.
Lloyd was born Nov. 7, 1922, at Rocky Ford, southwest of Chickasha, to Charley Edwards “Boss” and Eliza Virginia Carter Rich. He passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013, in Chickasha.
Lloyd grew up in the Rocky Ford area and went to schools at Rocky Ford, Cement and Fletcher. He married Juanita Gilliland on Aug. 1, 1942, in Elgin, and they would have celebrated their 71 anniversary this year. Lloyd worked for Fort Sill civil service as a communications technician until retiring. He later went to work for Comanche County Barn out of Elgin until retiring from there.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Irbalee and Jim Reeves, and Juanita and Tommy Hartline; and his only granddaughter, Heather Rich.
Lloyd is survived by Juanita, of the home; his daughter, Rosalind Schlegel and husband, Larry, of Chickasha; his son, Duane and wife, Connie, of Kechi area; five grandsons: David and Stacy Rich, of Chickasha, Mark and Meredith Schlegel, of Oklahoma City, Kevin and Jennifer Schlegel, of Oklahoma City, Stephen and Brooke Rich, of Bridge Creek, Adam and Rhyann Rich, of Blanchard; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations be given to the First Baptist Church of Fletcher.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha.
