Dean Jenkins

May 9, 1936 — Sept. 15, 2013

DUNCAN — Service for Dean Jenkins will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the First Presbyterian Church in Ardmore, with Dr. Rick Baggett, the Rev. Carl Taylor and the Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Dean was born May 9, 1936, at Teague, Texas, to Clyde Jenkins and Florence Mulvahill Jenkins. He passed from this life Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, in Wilson.

Dean left school in the eighth grade to help support his family. He went to work in the oil field in 1956. He and Mary Vendale Seals were married July 28, 1957, and started his own business in 1967, as owner and operator of Dean’s Well Servicing in Lone Grove and Ratliff City. She preceded him in death Sept. 2, 1991.

He later married Devry Sparks on Sept. 1, 1999. They had many wonderful years together. He enjoyed going to South Dakota pheasant hunting with the same group of men for 35-36 years. Dean loved to work in the oil field and was recognized by the AOSC for many years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Devry of the home; son, Ron Jenkins and his wife Mary Lu of Ratliff City; sister, Joyce Wegner of Duncan; brother, Donald Ray Jenkins of Velma; grandchildren: Jace Michael Jenkins, Trenton Dale Jenkins, Alexandra Raper and Lydia Helen Raper; brothers and sisters-in-law: Pete and Betty Thompson of Ardmore, Joe and LaVonna Dodd of Fox.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; brother, Bill Jenkins; and in-laws, Kenneth and Janie Seals.

Pallbearers will be Carl Taylor, Tim Johnson, James Lewis, Keith Morse, Jim Hoggard and Johnny Walker.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CrossTimbers Hospice 207 C ST. NW Ardmore, OK 73401. Online condolences may be made at craddockfuneralhome.com.
