Donald Wesley Wright went to be with his Lord on June 10, 2012. Donald was born on Sept. 10, 1932, to Wesley and Dorothy Wright in Stephens County. He was the seventh of 12 children.
Donald was raised in difficult times and learned the value of hard work early in his childhood. He enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve his country in the early 50’s. He was always very proud of his service while stationed in Germany and received both the medal of good conduct and NATO service medal. After the service, he married Glenda “Kate” Scott, on Feb. 5, 1955. Being happily married for 57 years is what he valued as one of his most prized accomplishments and he constantly rejoiced in how lucky he was to find a woman like his wife.
After living a short time in Oklahoma City working for Gilt Edge Dairy as a route salesman, they moved back to Duncan where he worked at various jobs including Ridley’s Packing Plant and Koch Oil before becoming an Independent Paint Contractor. He spent the last year of his life working with Eurest Company where he continued to paint and had made numerous new friends.
He loved his family, his church and enjoyed fishing and watching football and painting houses. He always claimed his main hobby was work.
Don was a Christian and member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Duncan. He was extremely proud of his family. With his wife they raised three wonderful Christian children leaving a legacy and impact on future generations. All three were educated at Oklahoma Christian University and went on to marry Christian spouses, and have enjoyed successful careers including blessing him with 12 grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Glenda; son, Danny and his wife Susan of Houston: son, Steven and his wife Gwen of Edmond: daughter, Lori Pizzitola and husband Jack of Houston, grandchildren, James, Evan, Bryan, Taya, Alaina Wright of Houston. Paul, Andrew and Benjamin Wright of Edmond, Katie, Callie, Maxx and Sammy Pizzitola of Houston.
He is preceded in death by his father, Wesley, mother, Dorothy Wright, sister Vinese Roberson and brothers Chester, Quinton, Richard and Earl.
Donald was one of 12 siblings and is also survived by his brother and sister in law, Jerry & Virginia Wright, Nita Fields (Wright), Martha Sztchko, Bernice Cooley, Goldie Tomlison, Floyd Wright and his sister in law Wilma and Glen Gill. Donald was blessed with numerous nieces and nephews that loved and cared for him including one special niece, Paula Toler, that lived close and looked after him almost daily during his illness.
Donald is resting in peace now and will be dearly missed by friends and family. Services will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 10 am at Eastside Church of Christ, 202 N. A, Duncan. Pall Bearers and Honorary Pall Bearers will be Donald’s Grandsons. He will be interred at The Duncan Cemetery following a short graveside service.

Ronald Dean Harness
Ronald Dean Harness, 69, of Duncan, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, in the Duncan Regional Hospital.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Marlow Cemetery under direction of Bailes-Polk Funeral Home.
Mildred P. Gamblin
Mildred P. Gamblin, 94, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, in Duncan.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Duncan Cemetery with the Rev. Tracy L. Wilson officiating and under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home of Duncan.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at the funeral home.
Mildred was born Feb. 11, 1919, in Duncan, to Robert Lee and Minnie Teague. She lived all her life in Stephens County, and grew up on the farm in the Empire area. She graduated Empire High School in 1938. She remained on the farm to help out until 1946, when she entered business college and graduated in 1947.
James David ‘J.D.’ Olds
James David “J.D.” Olds, of Duncan, was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Perry, to Laura and Jack Olds. He was the youngest of five sons. He passed away Dec. 9, 2013, in Duncan, at the age of 79.
J.D. grew up in Countyline, and went to school in Velma. He then graduated from Midwest City, where he was a quarterback for the football team. J.D. moved to Duncan and worked for Thorn Chevrolet. He married Harla June Sparks in 1954, in Lawton. They were blessed with two daughters: Kimberly Diane Johnson and Christie June Olds.
Paul David Campbell
Paul David Campbell was born June 26, 1955, in Wilcox, Ariz., and passed away Dec. 2, 2013, in Oklahoma City.
He graduated from Duncan High School in 1973. After being in the Navy, he became a carpenter and was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 329 in Oklahoma City.

Billy Blaine Schlein, 83, of Duncan passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Nathan Tate and Jerl Joslin officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Loretta Fern (Scribner) Williams, 79, of Pruitt City are scheduled for Thursday at the Shell Street Church of Christ in Healdton with Danny Huntsman officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
Loretta was born on Jan. 15, 1934, in Oklahoma City to the late Mr. Wiley Thomas Scribner and Mrs Nellie Jeanette (Goff) Scribner. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday evening, Dec. 9, 2013, at her home in Pruitt City.
Abigail Rachel Ruth Smith
Abigail Rachel Ruth Smith went home to be with Jesus Christ on Dec. 7, 2013, at 6:09 a.m. She was 24 years old, born July 11, 1989, and was a professional photographer. Abby impacted more people in her short time on earth than many do in much longer lifetimes. Her bright red curly hair and friendly personality made her everybody’s friend.
