Richard James Reeder

May 25, 1939 — Feb. 17, 2014

DUNCAN — Funeral service for Richard James Reeder, 74, of Duncan, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Riddles officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Cemetery under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the funeral home.

Richard James Reeder passed away Monday morning, Feb. 17, 2014, at his home with his family by his side.

Richard was born on May 25, 1939, in Lawton, to William H. and Clara Reeder. Richard was a graduate of Central High School and was a member of the Goodguys Car Club.

He worked for Safeway and Homeland Grocery store for 29 years as a produce manager before retiring in 2001. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, classic cars and reading.

Richard is preceded in death by his first wife, Alva Reeder; parents; several brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory are his second wife, Frances Reeder; his sister, Ruby Beatrice Johnson; numerous step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma or to Chisholm Trail Hospice.
