Gleason Lackey

May 18, 1935 — Feb. 2, 2014

DUNCAN — Gleason Lackey, 78, longtime resident of Duncan, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, with the Rev. Jack Robbins officiating. Interment will be at the Duncan Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of Carter- Smart Funeral Home.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Gleason was born May 18, 1935, in Valliant, to James Monroe and Era Lavera Green Lackey. Gleason was a retired carpenter and was known as the tomato man on Fifth Street.

Survivors include a son, Glendale Lackey and his wife Candi of Tulsa; daughters: Lisa Lackey and friend James Hefner of Duncan, Rose Lewis of Duncan, Pat Rivas of Wichita Falls, Texas, Donna Seymour of Comanche; brothers: Jimmy Lackey and his wife Debbie of Ardmore, Elvas Lackey and his wife Lottie of Whitney, Texas; and sisters, Betty Vaughn and her husband Louis, and Ruby Wreyford; four grandchildren: Ronnie Lackey and Patrick Lackey, both of Duncan, Kelsey and Chrystal; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Donny Seymour, Danny Seymour, Andy Seymour, Jacob Samuels, James Lewis and Dewayne Lackey.
