Angela Reppeto Burke

Dec. 4, 1954 - June 11, 2014

DUNCAN — Angela "Angie" Reppeto Burke, 59, passed away peacefully in her home in Duncan on June 11, 2014 after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. at Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 14 with the Rev. Rusty Canoy officiating.

The family will receive friends 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, June 13 at the funeral home.

Angie was born in Kansas City, Miss. on Dec. 4, 1954 to Jim and Olive Reppeto. She graduated from Higginsville High School in 1973 and attended college at Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Miss. and Central Missouri State in Warrensburg, Miss. While in college, she met her future husband Paul Burke and they were married at the First Baptist Church in Higginsville, Miss. on Feb. 22, 1975. They welcomed their first daughter, Holly Nicole, while they were living in Bolivar.

After graduating college, Paul started a job at Halliburton. Angie followed him to Duncan shortly after their second daughter, Heidi Michelle, was born in 1978.  Angie was a longtime church member at First Baptist Meridian, serving as assistant treasurer and Women's Missionary Union director as well as on various committees and as the preschool Sunday school teacher for many years. She was active in church choir, often singing the special music on Sundays. She also enjoyed performing solos in the Christmas and Easter cantatas.

Angie had a special gift with children and operated a home day-care business for many years and watched many children in Duncan grow from the time they were born through high school. Because Angie touched so many families, she was affectionately referred to by people as "my Angie."  An accomplished seamstress, Angie created items for many people, from bridesmaid dresses and her daughter's wedding dress to costumes and home decor items. Her talents won her numerous blue ribbons at the Stephens County Fair.

One of Angie's greatest joys was participating in Duncan Little Theater. She served as a board member for approximately 10 years and provided costumes for over 50 productions from 1996-2006 until illness required her to step down. She was presented with the Duncan Little Theater's first Limelight Award in 2007 for her contributions to the theater. Angie was a strong advocate for the arts, frequently attending concerts and plays with her husband and friends.  She loved spending time laughing with her "Diva Friends" Julie, Debra and Sharon and her longtime faithful friend Susan Andrews. Some of her greatest pleasures were spending time with her sisters and daughters and entertaining her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Paul, her daughter Holly and husband Thomas Luckritz of O'Fallon, Ill., her daughter Heidi and husband Jonathon Terrell of Edmond, her grandchildren Alyssa and Kieran Luckritz of O'Fallon, Ill. and Hudson Terrell of Edmond, her father James Reppeto of Rolla, Miss. and her sisters Lori Ausmus of Rolla, Miss., and Patty Rockhold of Cadiz, Ky.

Her family would like to thank her home care nurses and workers for their care and support over the past several years.

Pallbearers will be John Andrews, Matt Ausmus, Steve Brown, Tim Hunter, Jonathon Terrell, and Joe Williams. Honorary bearers are Michael Burke, Thomas Luckritz, and Charles Rockhold.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Oklahoma Chapter;  4606 E. 67th street;  Ste 103 Tulsa, OK 74136

Should the date for The World's Largest Garage Sale be changed from the third weekend in July to sometime in October to take advantage of cooler weather like we had this past weekend?

No. It's better in the summer cause kids are out of school.
Yes. More shoppers would come during nice fall weather.
Either time is fine.
