Marvin Ben Owens, a lifelong resident of Comanche, peacefully passed away Monday morning, Nov. 26, 2012, at Duncan Regional Hospital. He was 79 years old.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Ray of Hope Church, with Bro. Dow Pannell officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under direction of Comanche Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday. Family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Marvin was born Aug. 27, 1933, in Comanche to J.C. “Bud” and Euzella Ophelia (Whittington) Owens. He graduated from Comanche High School. Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army.
In 1957 he and Katheryne Ann Jones were married in Comanche. Marvin loved to travel with his family, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also loved his job, drilling water wells, and the opportunity of meeting people.
Marvin was a long time member of the Board of Directors of Stephens County Rural Water District No. 3. He owned Comanche Plastics for more than 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Katheryne of the home; three daughters: Marla Owens, Duncan, Jerran Presgrove and husband Tommy, Empire, and Tracey Moore and husband Paul Wayne, Marlow; seven grandchildren: Shaelyn Guilbeau and husband Shannon, Whitni Andrews, Michael Nubby, Logan Andrews, Zach Moore, Cierra Taylor and husband David, and Allyx Moore; five great-grandchildren: Altley, Jaygen and Kyrran Guilbeau, Makenzie Andrews and Brayden Taylor; a brother, Edgar Owens and wife Verna, Comanche; a sister, Edna Hagan, Duncan; and many loved nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters: Winnie Jean Bullard and Ophelia Bowen.

Jeannette Faye Miller-Mather
Jeannette Faye Miller-Mather, 69, of Duncan, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012.
Survivor includes her husband, Gerald Mather of Duncan.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Dec. 7 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lawton. Burial will be in Fremont.
